The 8 Year Plan
STS is a ministry that consists of eight grades (5th-12th). Although the ministry is divided between Crosswalk, Middle School, and High School, we have designed an 8 year plan that binds the ministries and gives students a comprehensive overview of God’s story.
5TH– 6TH GRADE { CROSSWALK }
JOHN: The Gospel of John gives a look at the life of Jesus and delivers a powerful presentation of His deity. Students will get a clear presentation of the gospel and see how it powerfully transforms lives.
ACTS: The book of Acts begins in Jerusalem with the disciples huddled in a room on the Day of Pentecost. Then the Holy Spirit came upon them and authorized them to be His witnesses. The rest of Acts describes the ripple effect of that great event. Through Acts, students will study the New Testament church and see the call to ministry that God places on the life of every Christian.
7TH– 8TH GRADE { MIDDLE SCHOOL }
MATTHEW: The Book of Matthew presents Jesus as the King of Kings and delivers a presentation of the kingdom that Jesus brought as the fulfillment of God’s plan of redemption. Through studying Matthew, students will be inspired to faithful service in furthering the kingdom of God.
LIFE AND LETTERS OF PAUL: Through the Letters of Paul, a believer receives instruction on how to grow to maturity. These are follow-up letters that spell out the specific steps in areas of growth to become a new creature in Christ.
9TH– 12TH GRADE { HIGH SCHOOL }
GENESIS AND EXODUS: Through studying Genesis and Exodus, students will see God’s purpose of creation, the consequences of the fall, and God’s plan for redemption. These books are foundational to the rest of the Bible and provide a basic understanding of God’s redemptive plan throughout Scripture.
OLD TESTAMENT PROPHETS: Prophets served as God’s spokesmen during the spiritual dark ages of the Old Testament. Today they serve a similar purpose of identifying specific sin and prescribing paths of repentance. Through studying the Old Testament Prophets, students will get an overview of the prophetic reference to the coming Messiah and an appreciation for the unity of the scripture.
MARK AND LUKE: Mark and Luke are the “action” gospels. These depict the work of Christ and dramatize healing power of the gospel. Through these books, students will see redemption in action and gain a fresh appreciation for it’s healing power.
ROMANS: Romans offers a great redemptive and theological summary of the New Testament. When a person begins to understand the book of Romans, they begin to understand the entire Bible. Through studying the book of Romans, students will begin to grasp the doctrinal framework of the New Testament.
