Our Team

Brian Skaggs {Director of STS}

Through some difficult life experiences, God has shaped and molded me to have a heart for students and a desire to pour into their lives. My crazy, yet rewarding, job of a student pastor began at another church in the Atlanta area in 2001.  I have a beautiful wife named Lisa and two little daughters named Cate & Kenzi.  As I continue to embark on my lifelong call to ministry, I am excited to see what God has in store for the ministry here at STS.

Kristin Waites {High School Assistant Coordinator}

I grew up in Marietta and graduated from Valdosta State University in May 2011. The Lord has blessed me with the opportunity to work with and serve the High School students here at The Church of The Apostles. Throughout college, God revealed to me that He was calling me to a life of ministry. I am excited to be involved in youth ministry and to have the privilege of seeing the students grow into a deeper and more intimate relationship with their Savior. God has given me a passion for pouring into young women and teaching them how to grow in their relationships with Christ. I want to make myself available to each student and their families as we embark on our spiritual journeys together. God has called each of us to share the gospel and His love to those we encounter, and it is my joy to be a part of that as a STS staff member.

Anna Witt {Assistant Coordinator for Fifth – Eighth Grades}

I’ve had the incredible privilege of working with Elementary and Middle School students for the past 8 years. Some of my favorite experiences include being a part of the worship team in Kid’s Connection here at The Church of The Apostles and assisting with FCA in Cobb County.

My husband and I live in Atlanta and are excited to be a part of what God is doing in our city! One of the greatest joys we’ve experienced is seeing students passionate for the Lord and His word. We have some awesome students in STS and are thrilled to see what God is doing in their lives!

Mark Johnston {Fifth & Sixth Grade Coordinator}

In 1989, while working in the Sports Medicine field, the Lord called me to student ministry.  I started out as a volunteer for two years and that eventually led to me becoming a full time Youth Minister in the Presbyterian Church in America where I served from 1992-2002.  In 2003 I arrived at Church of the Apostles with my family and immediately volunteered in the STS ministry where I served for five years.  I was asked to come on staff in 2008 to serve the families in STS.  My desire is to minister to our families and see them grow in their relationship with Jesus and be equipped for their ministry wherever God has called them to serve.  I have been blessed with an incredible wife Monica and three children Caroline, Elijah and Gideon.

Jenny Sessoms {STS Administrative Assistant}

I grew up as a child of missionaries in western Africa. I’ve always had a love for ministry but God confirmed this passion in me late in high school and all through college. I moved to Atlanta after I finished college and miraculously, God opened the door for me to work here in STS! I’m thrilled about being a part of such a fun, encouraging, and God-centered ministry and Church here in Atlanta. It is amazing to witness the hands and feet of Jesus everyday!

Favorite Bible Verse: Romans 1:16-17 – Never be ashamed of the Gospel!!!

David Fritts {STS Media}

I was born and raised here in Atlanta and grew up right down the street from Westminster. I graduated high school from Woodward Academy in 2006 and attended the University of Alabama for two and a half years before being called by the Lord back to Atlanta. I now take courses part time at Georgia State University. I have had the privilege of volunteering and working at STS during the past 6 years and currently handle many of the technical aspects of the STS services, from on-screen lyrics and video, to stage lighting and graphics.  More importantly, the Lord has blessed me with the opportunity to hang out with and mentor high school guys, and to share with all our students the amazing hope and love that can only be found in Christ.
