4th Annual Mission trip to Guatemala!
June 20 – 27, 2015
For the past 3 summers our group had a phenomenal experience working with a ministry called Impacto. God has provided and moved in tangible ways; so we’re returning again in 2015!
We will be taking a team to the Lake Atitlan region of Guatemala from June 20th to June 27th. Impacto is a ministry that works throughout Central and South America. Guatemala is one of the poorest countries in Central America and provides a great opportunity to serve. Impacto’s mission is: “To bring salvation, hope, healing, and peace of Christ to the Spanish-speaking world.”
Our group will be working with Impacto in numerous ways: constructing homes for widows’ families, doing Vacation Bible Schools, feeding programs, as well as many other services provided for the poor and lost of Guatemala.

The cost of the trip is $1,610.00.
This trip is open to current 9th-12th grade students (2014-2015 school year).
If there are spots left, we will open the trip up to rising 9th graders on March 1st.

Winter Mission Project
for 7th-12th Graders
All 7th-12th grade students are invited to join the STS staff and volunteers for our 2015 Winter Mission Project! Our group will be partnering with local Atlanta ministries for two days of service projects. We love this weekend because it is our chance to share the love of Christ with our community! We’d love for you to join us for this opportunity right in our own backyard.

Christmas Brunch and “A Christmas Carol”

Brunch will begin at 11:00 am in STS.

Join Mark, Anna and our volunteers for an exciting time of fellowship and discipleship designed for 5th-6th grade students. We will kick off the weekend with dinner, games, and large group teaching. Friday night, after teaching, STS students will stay the night at The Church of The Apostles. Our guest speaker, Chad Cannon, will be teaching from Matthew 4:18-22.
Students should arrive at COTA between 5:00 – 6:00 pm on Friday, November 7th. Students should be picked up from COTA after our teaching time on Saturday evening at 8:15 pm.
Cost: $50/student (includes all food, transportation, activities and a t-shirt)

The Church of The Apostles is partnering with Operation Christmas Child this year as a part of Apostles’ “Big Give.”
On Sunday, November 16th, during STS, we will be packing shoe-boxes for Operation Christmas Child.
We will provide the shoeboxes if you bring the supplies!
Starting October 19th, we will have collection bins in the STS gym for collecting supplies.

Also, please take into consideration that O.C.C. requests that $7.00 be included for shipping costs.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD DONATION SUPPLY BREAKDOWN
These are suggestions of types of items to bring:
Toys: Small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, jump ropes, small Etch A Sketch®, toys that light up or make noise (with extra batteries), Slinky®, etc…
Hygiene: Toothbrush, toothpaste, mild bar soap (in a plastic bag), comb, washcloth, etc…
School supplies: Pens, pencils and sharpener, crayons or markers, stamps and ink pad sets, writing pads or paper, solar calculators, coloring and picture books, etc…
Miscellaneous / Other: Hard candy and lollipops (please double bag all candy), mints, gum, T-shirts, socks, ball caps, sunglasses, hair clips, toy jewelry, watches, flashlights (with extra batteries)

Join our STS staff and volunteers for this year’s Fall Retreat! We’re looking forward to a great weekend of worship, teaching, and activities. This year we’re going to Ocoee Retreat Center in Ocoee, TN. This retreat is open to current 7th-12th grade students. 3rd Annual Kickball Tournament
October 5, 2014 at Brinkley Park, Smyrna
Join us for lunch at Brinkley Park immediately after Church.
Bring your lawn chairs and a picnic as we have our 3rd Annual Kickball Tournament. Come out and enjoy an afternoon of fun, fellowship, and competition.
The park’s concession stand will be open for purchases, as this is a way we can support them for allowing us the use of their fields (CASH ONLY). The concession stand offers hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, nachos, chips, sunflower seeds, popcorn, candy, Coke products, bottled water and Powerade.
Pets are allowed – owners MUST monitor & pick up after them. No wheeled toys allowed (scooters, skateboards, roller blades, etc…).

5th-6th Grade ATLANTA MISSIONS PROJECT
July 28 – 31, 2014
Join Mark, Anna, volunteers and your friends for a wonderful opportunity to live out your faith as you serve and love others in our city in the name of Jesus! We will partner with two Atlanta-based ministries (Resource Service Ministries and My Sister’s House) for day service projects and we will enjoy a time of fellowship at Stone Mountain Park on Wednesday evening.
Resource Service Ministries is a ministry that works with elderly widows. My Sister’s House provides shelter for homeless women and their children. Participants will be involved in scraping & painting a home, doing yard work with RSM and they will assist children in learning and sorting clothes for My Sister’s House. Students will need to wear work clothes each day. (*Please know that your children will never be asked to do anything that is beyond their skill level or that is dangerous.)
On Wednesday morning students need to bring a change of clothes, toiletries, sleeping bag, and pillow. After the service project on Wednesday we will return to the Church for dinner and STS Wednesday evening activities. Immediately after STS we will depart to Stone Mountain to attend the Laser show.
We will arrive back at COTA around 11:00 p.m. and stay overnight at COTA. If your child will not stay the night at COTA, please make arrangements to pick them up when we return from the Laser show.
Who can participate in the Atlanta Missions Project?
Current 5th and 6th grade students (2013-2014 school year); if there is room, we may open it up to rising 5th grade students.
Total Cost: $80.00 (Includes breakfast, transportation, Wednesday night dinner and Stone Mountain Laser Show.)
Lunch is not included on a daily basis. Students will need to pack a lunch for each day.

After registration you will be emailed a release form, your balance, packing list and arrival/departure times.
*For planning purposes we request that students participate in at least two days.
**If you do not plan on participating in the entire AMP week, but would still like to participate in one or two days, please do not sign up online. Instead, contact one of our staff members who will be happy to assist you in the registration process.
